Marc’s project fuses the technical study of spatial audio with the humanistic discipline of soundscapes. More recently, Marc has been visiting and collaborating with colleagues at Tampere University, Finland to work on the next stage of his spatial soundscape classification system. The original system published in 2017 using first-order Ambisonic features achieved 69% accuracy. Work began in Finland to extract new features from higher-order Ambisonic recordings, and preliminary results using neural networks developed by the Tampere lab are promising.
Congratulations Marc! May you put the prize money to good use!
