  • Source separation
  • Multipitch estimation
  • Signal processing

Born in San José, Costa Rica, he received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Costa Rica, institution in which he works as a full-time lecturer and researcher since 2011. In 2015, he started working toward the PhD degree in electronic engineering at the University of York, under the supervision of Dr John Szymanski. His research interests include single-channel audio source separation, multipitch estimation and tracking, onset detection, spectral filtering for audio signals, and optimisation techniques applied to time-frequency analysis. His studies abroad have been kindly funded by the University of Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications.
