Biography
Having graduated from Staffordshire University (2015) with a BSc (Hons) degree in Creative Music Technology & Salford University (2019) with a MSc in Audio Production Jay joined the AudioLab as a PhD student in 2020. His current research explores the relationship between external soundscape and engagement with speech-based media consumed over headphones. This is being conducted under the supervision of Prof. Damian Murphy and in collaboration with BBC R&D & XR Stories.
Jay’s work outside of research includes audio production for music, video games, film & broadcast, whilst his work as a technologist involves the development of multidisciplinary sound installations and musical instruments.
