Biography
Tony’s research focuses on the acoustics, psychoacoustics and morphoacoustics of human hearing, with the aim of overcoming some key challenges in spatial audio. He is specifically interested in transferring high performance spatial audio over headphones from the laboratory into consumer technology.
He was part of the team that pioneered morphoacoustic perturbation analysis (MPA), a technique for probing the relationship between human morphology and acoustic auditory cues. Other research he is involved in develops perceptually-robust simplifications in spatial audio, including in morphology data capture, HRTF synthesis, and binaural rendering methods.
